Our Directors

Charles van Breda was a candidate attorney at the firm and became a director in 1997. He practices in Banking Law, Consumer Law, Commercial Law and Commercial Litigation. His clients are mainly corporate clients, a number of which are market leaders and are listed on the JSE.

Paula Neethling completed her articles of clerkship with the firm and on invitation re-joined the firm as a director in 1998. She practices in Commercial Law (including mergers and acquisitions), Competition Law and Commercial Litigation. Her clients are mainly agricultural companies and companies with interests in the food and agricultural sectors, for whom she inter alia drafts credit- and related agreements. She further has particular experience in Medical Malpractice Law and also runs the company’s Medico-Legal department together with Martinette Meyer.

Linda Willemse joined the company in 2000, after having worked for the Road Accident Fund for several years. She practices in Road Accident Fund claims, Insurance- , and Personal Injury Law.

Alfie Langley completed his articles of clerkship with the firm in 2000. He was appointed as a director in 2005. He practices in Litigation, Banking Law and Deceased Estates.

Lester Klue completed his articles of clerkship with the firm in 2004 and on invitation joined the firm as a director in 2007. His areas of practice include Property Law and Conveyancing.

Martinette Meyer started at VanderSpuy as a candidate attorney in 2007. She was admitted as an attorney and notary public in 2009 whereafter she joined the firm’s litigation department. In 2011 she became a director and her main areas of practice are High Court Litigation, Commercial Law, Medico-legal Law, Trademarks and Antenuptial Contracts.

Yaseen Cariem completed his articles of Clerkship at VanderSpuy and has since become a director at the firm. He practices in Commercial and Banking Law and Litigation.
