VanderSpuy provides a dynamic learning environment where Candidate Attorneys are encouraged to express themselves and to apply what they have learned to real life situations, under the guidance of an experienced team of professional and support staff.
Candidate Attorneys are exposed to all areas of law to which the company practices. To achieve this we use a rotation policy whereby a Candidate is placed in a specific department for a period of time.
In addition to assisting with research, drafting of pleadings and correspondence, Candidate Attorneys also take part in consultations with clients and advocates. Candidates gain court experience through appearing at the Magistrates’ Court and attending the High Court with advocates.
ARTICLES & VACATION WORK
VanderSpuy also offers vacation work for students who want to gain some insight into the practical side of their studies. Students accompany current Candidate Attorneys on their daily rounds to the Deeds office, High Court, Magistrates’ Court and Masters Office.
If you wish to apply for articles or vacation work, kindly forward your CV to firstname.lastname@example.org. VanderSpuy accepts applications for articles until the 31st of May every year, whereafter the interview process starts.
You may also be pleased to know that VanderSpuy pays for all new Candidates’ registration fees for the compulsory L.E.A.D classes as well as exam registration fees.
