BEE AND CORPORATE SOCIAL INVESTMENT
CORPORATE SOCIAL INVESTMENT
VanderSpuy Cape Town embraces the notion of redressing social and economic imbalance through Black Economic Empowerment and Corporate Social Investment. We have set our focus on the use of education and training to promote equal opportunity and have several initiatives in place to achieve this.
Our flagship project is a bursary scheme for previously disadvantaged individuals who wish to pursue a career in law. Successful candidates enjoy the benefit of financial assistance in their studies. They are also encouraged to make use of the wealth of knowledge and guidance that VanderSpuy has to offer.
Our first bursary student graduated from UCT in 2011 and completed her articles with us in July 2014, whereafter she was admitted as an attorney. At present we have 2 full-time law students who are bursary recipients.
Other areas of involvement include staff empowerment, charity drives and pro bono legal assistance to deserving candidates.
